Team Nowak consists of Kathy and Paul Nowak. Both agents are orignally from New England but have lived all over the country. Paul is currenlt a DOD Fire Fighter at Maxwell AFB. Paul and Kathy have been married for 24 years and have 3 children. Because we have lived all over the country, we are very familiar with moving and the toll it takes on a family as well as how integral your home is to your family.
What made you decide to become a real estate agent?
"After having moved all over the country in the Air Force, we wanted to help ease the stress of moving and make it a seamless process. We have a passion for educating people whether they are first time buyers or have bought and sold many properties."
What is your favorite part of working in real estate?
"We love people! We enjoy meeting, helping and working with new people. Being in the Air Force means adapting to new areas and consistently meeting new people, so working in real easte is a continuum of that."
What is your most rewarding closing and why was it so rewarding?
"Every closing is different because every family or person has their own unique situation, desire and need. We can't choose because they all have been rewarding and each one has taught us something. When you walk someone through the home buying process and you make it to the closing table, you've established a relationship that can last for years. We hope to serve the needs of our clients long past the closing table."
Have you ever had an obstacle that you were able to help a client overcome in order to closing?
"Sometimes obstacles are simple misunderstandings and you can overcome them by being the liasion who knows how to effectively communicate between your client and all other parties involved. Making connections and being a resource makes a big differnece as well. Solving problems can be as simple as listening to your clients and connecting them with the correct people to solve their problem. Not only educating them, but continually striving to learn to improve yourself also plays a pivotal role in being successful as a real estate agent. We have had to educate people on the concept and the importance of investing in themselves by becoming a homeowner instead of paying someone else's mortgage and the difference it can make to their life in the long run. We've also had to become adept to being the calm in the emotional storm and roller coaster that comes with negotiating a contract on a property."
What is your #1 piece of advice for people looking to buy and/or sell a home?
"We would tell people to be sure to partner with a real estate professional whom they feel comfortable with . The home buying process can feel daunting and partnering with the right agent can help alleviate the stress. Often times, the unknown causes fear so an agent who can take time to walk with you through the home buying/selling steps, educating you and communicating with you is crucial."
What are your favorite things to do in our tri-County area?
"Our family has always been sports enthusiast. Along with watching our children play the sports they love, we enjoy supporting our local college and sports teams. Being on the lakes and rivers in our area has always been a fun part of our summer, whether it's Lake Jordan or Lake Martin, there is always something fun to do on the water. From historical downtown Prattville to Montgomery RiverFront and Wetumpka's Impact Crater, we always have our choice with things to do from shopping to crafting and spending quality family outings together."
